“ I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought; and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder”
~ G.K. Chesterton
My dearest Parents,
My heart is always filled with gratitude when I reflect upon the support and generosity with which you sustain our precious St. Francis Academy. This support comes, not only, with monetary gifts but with the presence of your children, with complementary words spoken to prospective parents and the helping hands that support our school activities. It is our greatest blessing that your generosity and support does not end on the day your child graduates from their alma mater, but in the many cases extends for a lifetime. St. Francis Academy is ever blessed by the prayers of our Missionary Franciscan Sisters, grandparents, and so many others. St. Francis Academy is truly raised up on eagle’s wings to bring the light that is Christ to our world through our students and their families.
As we enter into Catholic Schools Week on January 25th, with our annual Pasta Dinner we celebrate all that we are and do. Our students will celebrate their many academic and extra -curricular talents. We begin and end this wondrous week with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. On Saturday evening Monsignor Paul Bochicchio will celebrate Pasta Dinner Mass and on Friday, January 31st, Monsignor Thomas Nydegger will end our celebration of Catholic Schools Week. Don’t miss this celebration of our beloved Academy and students.
On this 60th Anniversary year our happiness is doubled by the completion of the renovation of our convent. As with all construction it took much longer than expected but the end is in sight. I cannot list the many people who made this dream a reality but be assured of our gratitude, prayers and thanks. The Annual Fund donations and gifts from graduating classes are furnishing and decorating this holy space, already being used by our Kindergarten and Pre-K 4 classes. The convent building will not be used to enlarge our enrollment but will allow our students and teachers room to spread their wings. I encourage you to come in and have a tour of our new facility. I think you will be delighted and filled with wonder.
God bless you always,
Deborah Savage
