I attended St. Francis Academy from Kindergarten thru 8th grade. Sr. Dora and all the Nuns at St. Francis were wonderful teachers and I am proud to have attended there. They gave me an education that could not be equaled both in academics and in faith. May God Bless Sr. Dora with eternal peace.

My heart is breaking over this news, but I am certain she is resting in the most heavenly peace. I feel so blessed to have known such an amazing person, who was almost always smiling and spreading love. My first year at St. Francis was her last year as Principal, then she moved on to be president. I remember vividly how Ms. Savage and Sr. Dora created such a harmoniously structured environment by enforcing discipline and respect with the perfect touch of sweetness, all topped with a core belief in God and Catholic values. Sr. Dora’s lasting influence on my life and the lives of many in the St. Francis Academy community is proof that she will always remain here with us. There is a piece of Sr. Dora in all of us and if we haven’t already, now is the time to channel it out. I wish I had another chance to tell her this on Earth, but I am sure she is watching over me right now with the same sweet smile. Rest In Peace Sister Dora, you are loved.

Sister Dora was such a loving, kind woman. She always provided faith and unconditional love to all her students at St. Francis Academy. May God shine his light upon her and may she always guide us in the way of Lord.
    Rest In Peace Sr. Dora…
    You will be greatly missed

I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sister Dora. She was a tremendous lady who exemplified true devotion to God. Her acts were exhibited every day at St. Francis Academy. She cared deeply about her adopted family there and touched many lives with God’s love. I will miss seeing her smile, as I know will others. My deepest sympathies to all those who are mourning the loss of this wonderful lady.

I’m thankful my children got to meet Sister Dora in the few years we have been at the school. They know how much she loved them and how much she did for the school in the years she was there. She will never been forgotten. I know Sister Dora only through our conversations each time we visited Tenafly and most recently this past December when the children performed the nativity. She was so welcoming, so full of joy to see all of us and she had a great sense of humor too. I was so sad to hear of her passing not long after that. Her kind spirit and love for the children made an impression on me. I will never forget her. May she rest in peace.
