			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Due to another storm that will drop at least 8 inches of snow, St. Francis Academy announced Thursday (Feb. 25, 2010) afternoon that there will be no school on Friday, 2/26/2010.</p>
<p>Weather forecast reports that the snow will continue heavily into Friday morning. &#8220;<em>The snow will then gradually become less steady and lighter into Friday night&#8230;before tapering off to light snow or snow showers on Saturday.</em>&#8221;</p>

<p>THE WINTER STORM WARNING IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EST SATURDAY.</p>
<p><strong>SNOW WILL CONTINUE&#8230; HEAVY AT TIMES&#8230; INTO FRIDAY MORNING. THE SNOW WILL THEN GRADUALLY BECOME LESS STEADY AND LIGHTER INTO FRIDAY NIGHT&#8230; BEFORE TAPERING OFF TO LIGHT SNOW OR SNOW SHOWERS ON SATURDAY.</strong></p>
<p>FOR NOW EXPECT ACCUMULATIONS TO RANGE FROM 15 TO 20 INCHES&#8230; WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE&#8230; ESPECIALLY IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF ORANGE&#8230; PASSAIC&#8230; AND BERGEN COUNTIES THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING.</p>
<p>THE HEAVY WET SNOW WILL LIKELY BE SUFFICIENT TO BRING DOWN TREES AND POWER LINES.</p>

<p>.A DEVELOPING STORM SOUTH OF CAPE COD THIS EVENING WILL RAPIDLY DEEPEN AS IT TRACKS NORTHWEST TO EASTERN PARTS OF THE TRI-STATE OVERNIGHT&#8230; THEN PERFORMS A LOOP OVER THE TRI-STATE INTO FRIDAY&#8230; BEFORE DRIFTING SLOWLY NORTH INTO SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND AND WEAKENING ON SATURDAY. THIS STORM WILL EVENTUALLY BRING SNOW TO THE ENTIRE TRI-STATE BY FRIDAY&#8230; WITH THE RAIN-SNOW LINE GRADUALLY MOVING EAST FROM THE EASTERN NEW YORK CITY METRO AREA TONIGHT.</p>

<p><em>SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP BY LATE THIS EVENING&#8230; WITH ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES POSSIBLE BY DAYBREAK. THE SNOW MAY MIX WITH SLEET WEDNESDAY MORNING&#8230; BUT WILL OTHERWISE BE HEAVY AT TIMES DURING THE DAY ON WEDNESDAY&#8230; WITH SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR POSSIBLE. BY THE TIME SNOW ENDS WEDNESDAY NIGHT&#8230; TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 10 TO 16 INCHES ARE EXPECTED.</em></p>

THERE MAY BE ENOUGH WARM AIR ALOFT FOR SLEET TO MIX IN ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN CONNECTICUT AND THE TWIN FORKS OF LONG ISLAND AT THE HEIGHT OF THE STORM&#8230; BUT FOR THE MOST PART THIS WILL BE AN ALL SNOW EVENT. THE SNOW WILL THEN TAPER OFF MONDAY AFTERNOON.</em></p>

SOMEWHAT LOWER AMOUNTS ARE FORECAST ACROSS THE TWIN FORKS OF EASTERN LONG ISLAND AND SOUTHEAST CONNECTICUT DUE TO THE SNOW POSSIBLY MIXING WITH SLEET. <strong>FOR THE NEW YORK CITY METRO AREA&#8230; 8 TO 12 INCHES OF SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED.</strong></em></p>
