St. Francis Academy celebrates St. Patrick’s Day by wearing green. The halls of SFA are filled with shamrocks, the symbol used by St. Patrick to represent the Holy Trinity when he brought Christianity to Ireland.

St. Patrick’s Day spirit permeated the halls of SFA on this holy day. All the students celebrated the conversion of Ireland by St. Patrick with the wearing of the green.

Irish for a Day

Yesterday (March 17, 2009), St. Francis Academy honored St. Patrick’s Day by wearing something green. Students were allowed to wear green ties, hats, and socks, and a first grader dressed up as a leprechaun.

Second graders drew and painted arts related to St. Patrick’s Day using the computer (KidPix software), and after lunch, upper grades watched as the Jeopardy winning teams from Grade 7 played an exhibition match moderated by school principal Ms. Savage. Audience were given the chance to answer when either team incorrectly answered questions from one of the seven categories.
