Bulb Planting Fall 2011

Ms. Savage, Grade 8, and Pre-K bless the bulbs before planting

October 11, 2011 – Grade 8 boys dug more than 275 holes around the school yard and garden for our annual bulb planting activity. Each class blessed the bulbs before planting them. We expect to see the flowers in Spring 2012.

My County Poster Contest

Two of our 4th grade students placed in the “My County Poster Contest” sponsored by Hudson County Constitutional Officers. Tahlia Cantatore won 2nd place and Dominique Clisura won Honorable Mention.

From Mrs. Anzivino:

… These students were among 169 applicants from fifteen Hudson County Schools who entered the contest.

This year’s theme was “Veterans Serving Our Country“

Honorable Barbara A. Netchert, County Clerk, presented the girls with a citation and a Target giftcard.

Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto at Sts. Joseph and Michael Church

Feb. 11, 2011 – Grades 4 through 8 students of St. Francis Academy visited Sts. Joseph and Michael Church to honor Our Lady of Lourdes. A short prayer service was offered following the procession. Check out the photos HERE. Follow the link to learn more about Our Lady of Lourdes.

Perfect in Writing Assessment

January 10, 2011 – St. Francis Academy is proud to announce that 12 students from Grade 4 and Grade 7 received a perfect score in the nationwide Writing Assessment held in October 2010. Congratulations, and keep up the good work!
