Students decorated the doors of their classrooms for the first Spring Door Contest hosted by the Student Council. The decorations and designs represent the warmth and beauty of the season of Spring.

Terranova Testing Week: March 1st – 5th

Terranova Reminders:

BEFORE THE TEST

Sharpened #2 pencils must be prepared.
Bring a healthy mid-morning snack
Arrive early at school.

DURING THE TEST

Read all instructions clearly.
Pencils may not be picked up without the teachers’ permission.
No calculators are to be used.
Absolute silence during testing
Students are to remain seated during testing time.

Grade 8 class takes their last Terranova Test at SFA

AFTER THE TEST

Students are allowed to put their heads down for a rest between tests
Students should have book to read while waiting for others to finish
Bathroom breaks allowed after testing.
Absolute silence after the test

IMPORTANT!

Birthdate of student must be absolutely correct. Cognitive score depends on correct birthdate.

Kindergarten class takes their first Terranova tests.

TerraNova Week: March 2-6, 2009

After an extended weekend due to inclement weather, the school starts the week with Terra-Nova exams. Click the title of this post to read some Terranova reminders….

Before The Test

Students – prepared with two sharpened #2 pencils
Students – prepared with a clean, new eraser
Parents – prepare your students with breakfast
Pack extra food for snack time.
Arrive at school early

During The Test

Read all instructions clearly
Absolute silence during the test
Students are to remain seated during testing time
Follow the teacher’s instructions (do not begin test until told to do so)

After The Test

Make sure all the questions are answered.
Remain seated
Students should have book to read while waiting for others to finish.
Absolute silence after the test.

CSW 2009: Day 3 – Open House

Despite the bad weather, St. Francis Academy carried on with the Catholic Schools Week schedule. In the morning, we welcomed several prospective families in our OPEN HOUSE (We’re going to have another one next week, Feb. 4). In the afternoon, the students from Grades 3-8 played our version of “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” organized by Grades 3, 4, 5 homeroom teachers: Ms. Figura, Mrs. Anzivino, and Mr. Tholen.
