St. Francis Academy will be observing the annual Catholic Schools Week (CSW) from January 28 to February 3, 2012. This year’s theme “Catholic Schools – Faith. Academics. Service” focuses on three priorities that Catholic schools establish that make them stand out from other educational institutions. (Full CSW 2012 Press Release)

We will be hosting an OPEN HOUSE on February 1st, 2012 from 9AM – 11AM.

Poster Contest -Grades PK to 3rd – “In Service for Others” – Draw yourself helping others.

Essay Contest – Grades 4 – 5 – “Faith in God” – Write about a time in your life when your faith in God has helped you accomplish a goal you had.

Essay Contest – Grade 6 – 8 – “The Future with God’s Guidance”

Poetry Contest – Grade 4 – 8 – Write 3-stanza poem, 4 lines each, about any subject you enjoy studying.

December 7, 2011 – Our 8th Grade students Class of 2012 received their school rings during the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on the eve of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. The celebrant of our liturgy was Father James P. Croghan, SJ. Our students comported themselves beautifully in their reading, singing, and prayerful worship. Special thanks to Mrs. Giallombrado, Sr. Mary Antonita, and Mr. Cordova. A festive reception at the auditorium was enjoyed thanks to our generous class mothers and volunteer servers.

Congratulations to our wonderful 8th graders!

November 19, 2011 – North Arlington, NJ – Team “Brain Train” placed first in 8th grade Jeopardy Competition at Queen of Peace High School, triumphing over 20 teams from various schools in Hudson and Bergen Counties.
