Feast of St. Francis of Assisi
Who Was St. Francis?
According to American Catholic website, “Francis of Assisi was a poor little man who astounded and inspired the Church by taking the gospel literally—not in a narrow fundamentalist sense, but by actually following all that Jesus said and did, joyfully, without limit and without a mite of self-importance…”
Here at St. Francis Academy, we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis by honoring him in mass at our chapel. It is followed by the annual “Blessing of Animals” where students were allowed to bring their pets to be blessed by the sisters.
