Catholic Schools Week 2009
Catholic Schools Week is celebrated nationally the last week in January, this year Jan. 24-30.
The logo for the observance shows the words âCelebrate Serviceâ and hands reaching out and surrounding a globe. The âtâ in the word celebrate is formed as a cross.
Schools typically celebrate Catholic Schools Week with Masses, open houses and activities for students, administrators, faculty, school staff, the community and families.

Saturday, January 24th
5:30 PM – Catholic Schools Week Mass (Rev. Kevin M. Hanbury, Ed. D) at School Chapel followed by Pasta Dinner
Monday, January 26th: Crazy Tie or Sock Day – 2 cans of food
10:00 AM – National Geography Bee Finals – Grades 5-8 (Auditorium)
12:30 PM – Spelling Bee – Grades 2-8 (Auditorium)
1:00 PM – Little Brother-Little Sister Hour – Grades Pre-K-K (PK & K Classrooms)Tuesday, January 27th:
10:00 AM- Math Bee – Grades 5-8 (Auditorium)
10:30 AM – 1230 PM – Grandparents Luncheon – Grades PK – 2 (Cafeteria)
12:30 PM – Pep Rally – All (Auditorium)Wednesday, January 28th:
9:00 AM – 11:00 AM – OPEN HOUSE
12:30 PM – 2:00 PM – Are You Smarter Than a 3rd, 4th, or 5th Grader – Grades 3-5 (Auditorium)Thursday, January 29th: Favorite College Sweatshirt or T-Shirt over uniform – 2 cans of food
9:30 AM – Children’s Chinese Auction (Auditorium) and Mission Bingo (all grades) in the classrooms.
Friday, January 30th: 12:00 PM Dismissal – NO AFTERCARE
9:30 AM – Closing Mass (Auditorium)
10:30 AM – Awards Ceremony – allPoster Contest -Grades PK to 4th – How do you help your parents/grandparents at home? Celebrate “Chores”.
Essay Contest – Grades 5 & 6 – What are your hopes for the United States under the leadership and service of President Barack Obama?
Essay Contest – Grades 7 & 8 – (Albert Schweitzer – “… the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.) How do you wish to serve others in the future?
