From Matthew, Grade 3

“My Christmas Vacation is the best! But the most important thing is celebrating the birth of or savior. But the true meaning of Christmas is Jesus’ birth.”

From Susann, Grade 3

“On my Christmas vacation I went ice skating, and Radio City musical. .On New Year’s Day I went to see giant ball fall in Times Square. On Christmas Eve my whole family came to my house. It was a blast! I had fun on Christmas and New Year!”

From Victor, Grade 3

“The best thing I did during winter vacation was that I went to Florida. The day I got back from Florida I played in the snow.Last Sunday every kid that I know came to my house and we had a good time. The last good thing I did was that I got to celebrate the holiday Christmas.”

From Danzel, Grade 5

“On New Year’s, I spent time at my cousin’s house. My whole family was there and I was delighted to see them. Most of the adults were in the living room using the karaoke machine. My cousins and friends were upstairs in their rooms talking and playing video games. When the clock struck 12:00 we all jumped of joy because a new fresh year was here. I thought it was really great having a party but the best thing was that I spent time with my family.”

From Taylor, Grade 5

“Over the holiday I sent my toys to the poor people. I also helped my mom cook for Christmas Eve. On Christmas Eve we got a lot of books to read. I read to my sisters in the night. I enjoy reading to my sisters every night. On Christmas I woke up my sisters to see what we got from Santa. We got a lot. I got U.B. Junky. It was the best Christmas ever.”

From Brandon, Grade 5

“I visited my Grandparents’ house for gifts and to spend time with them. We really enjoyed looking at each others’ gifts and most importantly just being together. We hoped that we all got what we wanted but if we didn’t we understood because of the economy…”

From Brittany, Grade 5

“On New Year’s Eve, my family and I went to a restaurant to eat dinner. Though our entrees came out after 30 minutes of waiting, our food was delicious. It was 10:00 PM at night when my family arrived at my grandmother’s house. Soon enough, my brother and sister’s friends (Nick, Anna, Erva) came to see the ball in New York City drop. We started playing ‘Uno’ at 10:30PM. Erva was very sneaky at this game so my brother and Nick taunted her. I was so excited when it was finally 11:59PM. goodbye 2008! Hello 2009! We counted 5..4.. 3.. 2.. 1.. Happy New Year!!”

From Justin, Grade 7

“Over the holiday break, my family did something we have never done before – we hosted our Christmas party. It was amazing. It was late Christmas day everyone was happy, laughing, joking, eating and having a joyous time. It was the best Christmas ever.”

From Brielle, Grade 7

“This Christmas vacation was nothing but fun and games for me and family. On Christmas Eve I went to my cousin’s house to celebrate. I finally got the chance to meet my baby cousin Nino, almost 4 months old now. Christmas day was just as awesome. I have to say, Santa did a great job this year! It was just nice to be around the family though. After Christmas the days went by extremely fast. Next thing I knew, I was celebrating the New Year at my grandfather’s house with my older cousins and Baby Nino. When the clock struck at twelve, we couldn’t scream because Nino was sleeping!”

“It’s a Wii Christmas” by Lauren, Grade 7

“I’m dreaming of a Wii Christmas, with every Wii game I desire! I spent my holiday with my caring family. I do not know what’s my favorite, it could be my uncle doing yoga on the Wiifit or my grandfather telling crazy jokes. Everyday I was with my family… I know, I would change nothing that holiday!”

From Marcela, Grade 8

“I woke up the sound of my sister’s voice telling me to wake up and open the gift that Santa Clause brought me. I walked to the living room and was surprised to find all the gifts under the Christmas tree. As I walkedto the tree, the Christmas music my mother had on and the cinnamon candle she lit put me in the Christmas spirit. As I opened all my gifts, I truly realized how much my family loves me.”

From Christopher, Grade 8

“This Christmas has truly been quite unique from all the others. I’ve always loved Christmas, but, never really understood the true meaning of it. This year, however, I came to the realization how immense my families’ care and love for me is. I was filled with a sense of gratitude and appreciation when I opened my presents. I got a variety of different gifts this year. From clothes to the Rock Band, I couldn’t be more content with what I received. To me, those presents, despite what they were, were symbols of the everlasting spirit of Christmas, which guide us to that feeling of happiness you receive when you give back to those who have always been there for you. My experiences this Christmas and what I have learned will soon become a life-altering memories that will never fade away.”

Hope you enjoyed the children’s stories! Have a wonderful weekend!
