SFA Community gathered together to help the people who are affected by the strong earthquake in Ecuador. Mr. Patrick Yepez, an SFA Parent, coordinated the relief operations. “We joined efforts with the City of Union City and took all the donations to one of their drop off locations. They are working with a few humanitarian organizations to ship goods to Ecuador.” he said via email.
SFA collected various goods such as cases of bottled water, canned goods, clothing, and basic necessities. As the 8th Grade boys were bringing the items to the truck, Mr. Yepez mentioned in the email that a student from the lower grade said “thank you for helping my country.”
According to him: “In her eyes, I saw the smiles from all the children in Ecuador thanking our school and all the wonderful families that made this possible.”
