It is difficult to believe the first month of school is now behind us and we are entering the month of October. Crisp fall weather, apple and pumpkin picking, the multihued beauty of a hillside of trees, and the wondrous feast days of October await us. We celebrate the lives of great saints throughout this month: St. Therese, the Little Flower, the Guardian Angels, Our Lady of the Rosary, and St. Francis of Assisi.
From the cross in the neglected field – chapel of San Damiano, Christ said, “Francis, go out and build up my house, for it is nearly falling down.” The followers of Francis, our holy Missionary Franciscans of the Immaculate Conception and all who follow their mission, are still building up the house of the Lord here at Saint Francis Academy. You, the wonderful parents of our students, are also building up the house of the Lord by sending your children to our Catholic School. As St. Francis sacrificed his extensive personal fortune for spreading the Good News of the Gospel, you too make sacrifices to ensure that your children are educated spiritually as well as academically. We at St. Francis Academy are honored and awed at the trust you place in us each day as we act as teachers, mentors, and role models for your most precious children.
May God bless and keep you and your families close to Him.
