June 2017

Thank you, God, for blessing me much more than I deserve.

Dear Parents,

Tempus Fugit! Time Flies! Truer words have never been spoken. How has the month of June arrived so quickly here at St. Francis Academy. The Class of 2017 received their yearbooks, had a salsa dancing lesson for their graduation party and enjoyed a lovely luncheon provided by their parents. As I sat with them for lunch I contemplated the many accomplishments achieved, hardships overcome and bright future lying ahead for these exceptional young men and women as they step through the chapel doors on Saturday and stride confidently into the future.

The graduation for our 8th Grade is, each year, a bittersweet occasion. So many of our students have been here for nine or ten years. We have seen them enter as sweet babies and exit as confident young men and women. We know that they are ready, well prepared to fly from the safety of the nest that is St. Francis Academy. Strong in their faith, academically sound, articulate and well mannered they soar into the world, our baby birds! We stay behind in the nest hoping that the world will be kind and others will watch over them with loving intentions.

We also bid farewell to the families of our graduates and those moving on to other schools. Nineteen of our thirty one families in Grade 8 will be ending their years as SFA families. Though, we will no longer see you every day you will always be a St. Francis Academy family. We will hope to see you at our Gala on October 6th in honor of Sr. Dora Sartino and to hear of the accomplishments of the Class of 2017 in high school.

Enjoy your summer, spend time as a family at the beach, in the mountains, at a game, or having a picnic. Read summer books together, summer is the perfect time to instill a love of reading in your children. Attend Mass on Sunday as a family, find a church when on vacation, make that habit a part of your vacations. Make beautiful memories with your children this summer because time flies and children grow. May God hold you and your families in the palm of His hand until we meet again.

Lovingly,

Ms. Savage
