Competition Winners: March and April 2015


During the last 2 weeks of March, grades 6 and 8 competed in the American Scholastic Achievement League‘s online test. This test consisted of 100 questions in all subject areas, and the students were given an hour to complete it. Receiving a first place trophy for all 6th graders in the state of New Jersey, is Blake Jacey. Receiving a gold medal with the highest score in her 8th grade class is Miranda Stern.

On April 12, 2015, Nicholas Iniashvili (8th grade) competed in the New Jersey Knights of Columbus State Spelling Bee Championship in Brick. Through months of study, he proved to be successful coming in 2nd place in the state.

On the art front, students from grades 3-8 submitted artwork for the Hudson County Improvement Authority’s art calendar contest. I’m pleased to announce that 9 of our students have won, and their artwork will appear on the 2016 calendar! The winners are as follows:



Grades K – 2: Gabriel Pena (Gr. 2)
Grades 3 – 5: Isabella Betancourt (Gr. 3)


Grades K – 2: Shaurya Madiraju (Gr. K) and John Facchini (Gr. 2)


Grades K – 2: Clare Facchini (Gr. K)
Grades 3 – 5: Jasmine Heredia (Gr. 4)
Grades 6 – 8: Caroline Bruder (Gr. 8)


Grades K – 2: Oscar Rodriguez (Gr. 2)
Grades 6 – 8: Sebastian Pena (Gr. 6)
