On April 25, 2015, the 7th grade class participated in the Jeopardy Challenge at Queen of Peace High School in North Arlington, NJ. We spent an entire month preparing and practicing with Ms. Farinola and Ms. Savage for this event. We had a total of six teams: The Smarties, The Braininators, The Furious Five, The Mind Benders, The Zirconiams, and The Big Brain Theory.
It was a hard fought battle between 21 teams from different schools and eventually eight teams emerged as the semi-final contestants. Two of those eight teams were from St Francis Academy: The Zirconiams and The Big Brain Theory.
We answered as many questions as we could, and eventually we faced off against each other for 5th place. The Big Brain Theory which included Sarah Tauriello, Jeziah Rodriguez, John Velasquez, Dylan Quintana and Antonio Callegari, won the match and took 5th place. The Zirconiams, which included Joseph Doody, Nicole Borrero, Matthew Melo, Deven Quinones, and Zubin Sudo, came in 6th place.
Although we did not take top honors, everyone did their best and had fun. That’s all that matters.
